Ingredients

Flour - 2 1/2 cups
Apples - 5-6 (diced)
Corn flour - 1 tbsp
Lemon Juice - a few drops
Plain sugar - 1 1/2 tsp + 1 cup
Butter - 1 cup ( salted & chilled )
Cinnamon - 1 stick
Brown sugar - 1/2 cup

Method

Take flour in a bowl . Add 1 cup chilled butter to it . Rub it with your fingertips well till it looks like break crumbs. Using chilled water knead dough and cover it with a cling film and keep it in the fridge for 1/2 an hour. Now roll it into almost 12” diameter and 1/2 inch thickness. Set it in the pie dish nicely pressing the edges. Cut the excessive portion coming out of the dish with a knife . Prick it with a fork nicely and bake it for 5-7 mins at 80 degree C. Meanwhile , cook apples with 2 tbsp butter. Add 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup sugar to it. Add cinnamon and corn flour stick to it. Let it get caramelised. Cool it for some time. Add lime juice to it counter sweetness. Add it to your pie crust evenly. With the remaining dough cut strips of equal length and arrange it on the top. Pie is ready for baking. Bake it at 180 degree Celsius for 35-40 mins till done. Enjoy it with vanilla ice cream.
